“IOSS Numbers are to be applied for Sales to EU member Countries from non EU Member Countries. UK is NOT a member of the EU so IOSS requirements do not apply

For the UK VAT @ 20% is paid at time of Sale and remitted to appropriate authority by Etsy if the Order is under GBP 135. If the Order is over GBP 135, then the Customs Duty and associated VAT is calculated by UK Customs and charged to the importer (buyer) prior to delivery of the parcel

From the Help Centre: We recommend sellers include the following information on the packages:

Packing slip in the package with the separate VAT amount shown, which may appear under Tax

Note on the packing slip: The item is under £135  and the marketplace, Etsy, will collect and remit the VAT to HMRC
